MDAC 2.8 and SQL 2000 SP3 in Windows 2000 SP3?

Is that OK? Any gotchas? Thanks.

We have some applications that can not use too high MDAC versions.
According to http://support.microsoft.com/default.aspx?scid=kb;en-us;823718,
there is a patch fixing the same security hole as 2.8 does. However, it
does not say explicitly whether it is just a fix without enhancing the MDAC
version, or it brings MDAC to version 2.8. Can you -- or someone else --
verify? Thanks.
